The DBSA-Dallas is locally-run, independent affiliate of the National DBSA, which is the largest support organization in the nation devoted exclusively to mood disorders. The DBSA-Dallas is a non-profit organization run by individuals with mood disorders and their significant others. All who are interested are invited to attend meetings and to participate without cost or obligation. We will be gradually updating our local offerings and I look forward to these exciting new changes.

Small Things Are a Big Help

President's Notes:

NEW DBSA GROUP will be offered EVERY MONDAY AFTERNOON from 2:00 – 3:30 P.M. at the Mental Health America building. Sessions follow the curriculum for Living With Bipolar Disorder produced by the national branch of DBSA. You are welcome to start attending at any point. The address for the MHA building is 624 N. Good-Latimer Expy, Suite 200, Dallas, Texas, 75204. Please email dallasdbsa@gmail.com for more information. You may also call the main DBSA number to leave a message.

***On Thursday, July 31st from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. there will be a board meeting at UTSW all members are welcome to attend.

2. Group for Family and friends of those who have Depression or Bipolar is facilitated by Ricardo.

3. Group for Adolescents is facilitated by Ms. Annie Walley.

 Especially for Adolescents

 The Living Room

 Are you a teenager with Depression or Bipolar Disorder? Do you feel alone or misunderstood? You are not alone. The Living Room is a free support group that focuses on issues unique to teens with mood disorders. This group provides a safe and supportive environment to share experiences with other teens. We offer this meeting twice monthly.

  The first meeting takes place the first Thursday of each month from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in Building D, Room D1.106. We meet in room D1.502 for announce­ments and then move to our meeting room.  Annie Walley, LCSW, is the group facilitator. Ms. Walley, Clinical Therapist, is the Coordinator of the Pediatric Psychiatry Research Program for the Children’s Medical Center, Dallas. She is responsible for evaluation, ongoing assess­ment, case management, conducting group therapy sessions with bipolar youth, and handling patient/family issues.

 Free pizza is provided at the meeting.

  There will also be a support group for friends and family members meeting at the same time.
